I have known the K-beauty brand COSRX long ago from social media beauty influencers, however, this is the first product I’ve tried. I was searching for a gentle cleanser for my oily acne-prone skin and this is how I decided to buy the popular cleanser I am reviewing today. What caught my eye was a combination of active ingredients such as Salicylic acid and Tea Tree oil which are supposed to help to improve oily acne-prone skin condition! 

I have long been a fan of Korean face cleansing which is quite gentle to my skin. I used to buy Korean cleansers a lot in the past so I am quite familiar with Korean skincare products. In recent years so many new brands have emerged and, honestly, I didn’t keep up with them. However, COSRX has been in the k-beauty market for many years and has become well-known for its snail mucin products. COSRX – Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser doesn’t contain snail mucin but it’s one of the best COSRX face cleansers to take care of excess sebum, dead skin cells and pores. 

What does it do and how to use it?

This is a foam face cleanser for oily and acne-prone skin. It contains salicylic acid and a number of botanical ingredients that help to gently remove impurities and excess sebum. The cleanser comes in a tube of 150ml and it has a minimalist design. COSRX – Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser itself comes in white color and has a creamy soft texture. It has a slight citrus fragrance which is rather nice. It’s easy to use – just take an appropriate amount (you don’t need much) into your hand, add water and leather. Then massage onto the face and then rinse with warm water. If you really need rich roam, you can add more cleanser into your hand. 

What are key ingredients? 

• 0.5% Salicylic Acid with its deep cleansing properties helps to remove dead skin cells and excess sebum, reducing the formation of breakouts and blackheads.
• Tea Tree oil has antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties.
• Willow Bark water helps to calm irritations and reduce inflammation.

What is the effect? 

I use COSRX – Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser to clean my face twice daily – in the morning and in the evening. I use it exactly as instructed: I take a small amount of the creamy cleanser into my hand, add water and leather into a rich foam to wash my face and then rinse with warm water. I should say that the creamy texture is very pleasant to touch. The foam it creates is amazingly soft and helps to gently clean impurities from the face skin. I love that it has a light fragrance which is not annoying at all! I like that a small amount of the cleanser is enough to create a rich foam! This also means that the product will go a long way!

After washing, the skin feels so perfectly clean and well hydrated! Pores are clean, excess sebum is being removed easily and the skin looks fresh! I didn’t notice any redness or irritation after use which is great! The next step in my spring skincare routine is using the toner (during the day) and I use SKIN1004 Centella Quick Calming Pads in the evening (which I reviewed recently).

My general impression of COSRX – Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser is very good and I am happy I’ve discovered such an amazing face cleanser at an affordable price! This is a decent non-irritating skin cleanser for my acne prone skin and it now makes part of my spring skincare routine.
