Struggling with acne-prone skin can feel like an endless battle, but finding the right skincare routine makes all the difference. If you follow my blog, you probably know I have sensitive acne prone skin. This is actually what my blog is about.
I always share my own experience with skincare products for sensitive acne prone skin in the Reviews section of the blog. So I decided to share how I use six skincare products I reviewed recently to take care of my sensitive acne prone skin. I find my skin care routine quite simple and not too expensive. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by skincare advice, I hope my journey will offer some encouragement! Please note, as now is summer, this is my summer skincare routine!
Morning
- I start my day with washing my face with COSRX – Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser which gently washes away all impurities and excess sebum.
- After cleansing the face, I use antibacterial Mary & May Vegan CICA Tea Tree AHA PHA Blemish Toner which helps to refresh and exfoliate skin without irritation.
- I apply Mary & May Centella Asiatica Serum to strengthen skin barrier and soothe skin.
- Last step in the morning skincare is moisturizer – I use light Mary & May Vegan CICA Soothing Sun Cream which not only provides sun protection but also moisturizes and soothes the skin.
- Additionally: when I have pimples, I apply Lotus Flower Targeted Blemish Treatment which is my first aid in acne treatment to reduce redness and pain.
Evening
- My evening routine starts with makeup removal if I use makeup. When I don’t have any make-up, I simply wash my face with COSRX – Salicylic Acid Daily Gentle Cleanser which I used in the morning.
- After cleansing, this time I use SKIN1004 Centella Quick Calming Pads which help to calm the skin and provide skin hydration.
- My last step in the evening skincare is Pai Skincare Carbon Star Detoxifying Overnight Face Oil which helps to reduce breakouts and improve skin condition.
- Again, I may apply Lotus Flower Targeted Blemish Treatment if needed.
Additional Care
- Once a week I use the Sand & Sky Oil Control Mask which has become my favourite clay mask!
- On weekends I also wash my face in the afternoon to remove sebum and dirt and feel refreshed.
As you noticed, mostly I use Korean products in my summer skincare routine, because I love k-beauty for effectiveness and affordability. Finding a basic skincare routine that works for acne-prone skin isn’t about following every trend – it’s about understanding what your skin truly needs. Through trial and error, I’ve learned that patience, consistency, and gentle care are key. What worked for me might not work for everyone, but I hope sharing my experience gives you a helpful starting point. Remember: skincare is personal, and progress takes time. Be kind to your skin – and to yourself – along the way 🙂
