I have acne-prone skin with occasional blemishes appearing from time to time, especially before my time of the month. At the time of writing I don’t have a favourite anti-acne solution that would work for me 100%. I am always happy to try a new blemish treatment, so I bought Emma Hardie Lotus Flower Targeted Blemish Treatment and here is my review of this beauty product.
I should start with the fact that I have never heard about this brand so I was a bit skeptical about it. However, this proves to be a good discovery as I like the anti-blemish treatment in question! A bit of information. Emma Hardie is a British skincare brand focused on innovative, natural cruelty-free beauty products for all skin types. According to Emma Hardie website, their products are kind to people, kind to the planet and animals which all sounds amazing!
What does it Do?
Lotus Flower Targeted Blemish Treatment has anti-inflammatory properties to reduce blemishes and redness. It helps to reduce excess sebum production leaving the skin radiant and smooth.
The treatment has a gel texture and comes in a small tube of 15 ml which may seem a small volume. However, in reality for a targeted application just a very small amount of the gel is needed! Besides this, the small size of the tube makes it so convenient to carry in the bag. The gel is transparent and has a neutral color and a light pleasant fragrance.
What are Key Ingredients?
Key ingredients in Lotus Flower Targeted Blemish Treatment are following:
- Egyptian and Sacred Lotus Flower help to reduce excess face oil production
- Salicylic Acid helps to reduce blemishes and redness
- Witch Hazel with its anti-bacterial and anti-inflammatory properties helps to reduce pores
- Wild Indigo helps to improve skin tone
- Vital ET is a form of Vitamin E which has anti-inflammatory properties
Another key points mentioned by the manufacturer:
- Dermatologically tested
- Cruelty-free
- Suitable for Vegetarians and Vegans
How to Use it?
As it is a targeted blemish treatment, you should take a small amount of the gel and apply it on the pimple using a cotton pad or just your finger. Make sure the skin is cleansed thoroughly. It is recommended to use it at least two times a day – in the morning and in the evening. Good news is that you can re-apply it during the day, even over make-up!

What are the Effects?
I noticed that when I get a fresh pimple and apply the gel immediately on a clean face, the pimple becomes less painful and red. With a few more re-applications it becomes even less painful and less visible. The inflammation seems to go away quicker than usual. The gel works magic as it takes a day to get rid of a pimple. I was so surprised to see this effect! However, I noticed in some cases one application is not enough and more applications are needed.
Bear in mind, even though the Lotus Flower Targeted Blemish Treatment has a transparent neutral color, it leaves a visible oily trace. That’s why try to carefully apply it on the pimple only, avoiding surrounding areas, otherwise the oily trace will be all over. What I also like is the small size of the tube which can be easily carried even in a small bag. This makes it so convenient to use during the day be it at the university or at work. I also love its lovely smell which makes its usage so pleasant. I didn’t notice any reduction in sebum production because I don’t apply it on the entire face, just on blemishes.
Can I Recommend It?
I can definitely recommend Lotus Flower Targeted Blemish Treatment because it really helps to minimise the appearance of occasional blemishes. It works amazing without doubt, at least on my skin. I would say it’s worth trying. Teenagers can take it into consideration and try to include it in their teenager skincare routine.
Please, be advised, I am not a doctor and I am sharing my personal experience with the product. Always remember, that medium to severe acne is a serious condition and requires doctor’s advice.
